Thumbs Up Weekly Digest
Posted by: spyder17 - 07-28-2019, 06:15 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Received an e-mail with an update on what I did the past week, very similar to the digest from the old VirZoom.  Have you been sending these out or is this the first?  Really like the idea and please keep on doing this.  Will keep an eye on them and let you know if there is anything else that would make sense to report (maybe ranking on spins for the week) , but really great to see the information.  Keep up great work.

  Kiosk mode test
Posted by: emalafeew - 07-17-2019, 12:21 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

In addition to homes we want VZfit to be used in gyms, hotels, offices, arcades, and basically anywhere you can find people on bikes.

The main difference with commercial locations is you need a setup that automatically runs VZfit and can't be exited with the home button.  Also the games have to assume a random person is playing every session, to reset settings, reshow basic instructions, and hide personalization features until the player logs in.

We've made those games changes already, enabled with a special "Guest Mode" flag we can set on commercial VZfit accounts.  The auto-start and home-button lockout are what's called a "kiosk mode", and aren't supported by Oculus yet.  But Oculus for Business will have a kiosk mode this fall, and https://oculusgokioskmode.tweaklab.org/ is available now to test with the Go.

Our initial test is on a spin bike in the Wellbridge Athletic Club near our office in Harvard Square.  If anyone's a member or guest of the Charles Hotel you can try it out, and if anyone wants to try this setup with their Go at home let us know!

  Speech recognition to create rides
Posted by: emalafeew - 07-17-2019, 12:03 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

You can now create rides with speech recognition in Explorer! This saves a ton of time versus using the virtual keyboard, which you can still use if necessary.

Hit the microphone button above the keyboard, speak the address or location, then hit it again to process your speech and see the result as if you had typed it.  If it's wrong just hit the microphone button again, or edit it with the keyboard.

You still need to hit NEXT and GO on the keyboard after your start address and end address to progress and actually create the ride.  If there's an error looking up directions it's also now easier to fix, without having to reenter the whole ride.  Remember you can skip the start address to begin at your current virtual location, or skip the end address to ride whereever you want and take your own turns at intersections.

  Please help....
Posted by: pbreed - 07-15-2019, 11:45 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (7)

I received my product last week.
Friday night I eagerly opened the box and started doing the install.....

Only to get to the point where it says send an Email to get access to software for the Quest.

The response says "sorry you were excited about our product we are going to do our damnedest to utterly destroy  your  eager anticipation"
We don't answer Email queues other than 10Am to 6Pm east coast time Monday to Friday...
(We do however seem to have time to post to the forum and or blog outside of these hours...)

So I took my curiosity stuffed in back in the box, and waited until 10 am Monday.....
10 am came and went...
11,12,1,2,3,4,5,6.. all gone Monday is toast....
Now my eagerness to try your software is replaced with disbelief that one can actually run a company that
requires individual intervention for EACH user and at the same time does not staff for or provide that intervention in a timely manner...
If the initial customer experience is sooo bad, how good can the end product be?
Should I just toss it in the trash and look elsewhere?

I've sent three more emails... no response, no software for my quest....

Huh Huh Huh

  The goal of Explorer
Posted by: emalafeew - 07-12-2019, 12:56 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

We've changed the Explorer leaderboards on vzfit.com/stats to rank by the "Days Ago" you finish a ride, rather than ranking by the number of times you've finished it.

Later this sprint we'll add everyone's percentages before they finish a ride to the leaderboards, so everyone can see who's closest to finishing next.

The implied goal of Explorer is to finish all of our Suggested Rides as quickly as we post them!  We plan to make this clear in the game itself and also rank shared rides there.

  Events For All Games
Posted by: emalafeew - 07-11-2019, 06:37 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (22)

We're changing things up for the month of July, by creating an event for every Play game!

Your cumulative score by the end of the month gives you bragging rights and everlasting recognition on the vzfit.com/events page.

If people like this, we'll do it every month.  We're also thinking about making regular head-to-head events for certain days of the week, for instance Thunderbowl Thursdays.

Carrier used for shipping to Canada?
Posted by: vurzum - 07-10-2019, 11:53 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

Hello,
Which carrier and shipping method do you normally use for shipping to Canada?

I need to take that into consideration because the taxes/duties/fees I get charged at the border is depending on which carrier is used and for UPS on the shipping speed used.  The amounts actually differ quite a bit depending on whether USPS, FedEx or UPS is used.

Thank You

Heart First Impression and Feature Requests
Posted by: query1000 - 07-02-2019, 06:26 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Hi VirZOOM,

Finally I could play VizFit and It's really exciting.

First let me introduce myself.
I'm not a game player.
I had just got the severe surgery and I bought the stationary bike, Oculus Quest, and VZFit for the rehabilitation sake.
I'm an old man.

This is my feedback.

* VZ Exploler is fun but boring because I run so slow so the sight won't change.

* I got dizzy after 10 minutes. This is not only for the softwar but also I am junior VR player.

* VZ play is just exciting!

* each game is short so I haven't got dizzy.

Following are the  Feature requests

* I got dizzy if I lean and steer, so for the beginner like me, "No Steeting and Just Go Straight Way Mode" is preferable.

* One idea is to simulate stationary bike in the gourgeous fitness gym with the sexy ladies and macho men. Virtual stationary bike simulation by Real stationary bike :-D

* One idea is karaoke touring. I sometimes play Youtube Karaoke and sing and row the bike and it's fun. If you play the music and show the lyric in the view, then it would be enjoyable.

What do you think?

Chihiro

  Volume display (suggestion)
Posted by: arcanadana - 06-28-2019, 05:36 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

In Thunderbowl, if I bump the wrong button on my handlebar clip and hit a volume control button, the volume control display overlays the reticle and makes aiming impossible for a few seconds. Could this display be moved to the lower part of my field of view?

In an active battle this is a big deal  Big Grin
