Explorer Issues
Posted by: rod1492 - 10-22-2019, 03:01 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Hi All,

I recently purchased the VIRzoom kit primarily to use the Explorer. Being able to bike through interesting places seemed a sure way to motivate me on my cycling workouts. However I have a pretty poor internet connection (generally 3-6 Mbps) due to my rural location, and I believe it’s causing all kinds of display problems when bicycling in Explorer. I seem to be able to generally stream Netflix at HD resolution regularly, but get constant artifacts/blue screen/navigation issues in Explorer. Is there any way possible to totally cache a particular route ahead of time, so that I could enjoy the scenery on my rides? If not, are there any suggestions that would enable me to optimize Explorer so that it becomes more useable?  Thanks!

Game breaking bug on some explorer rides
Posted by: surfous - 10-16-2019, 04:18 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (25)

I’ve found a game-breaking bug where I’m unable to complete some rides that I’ve previously been able to complete. The problem presents the same in each case: I see the next white dot or two some distance ahead of me, farther away than normal, but the landscape stops moving and I’m unable to reach it. Exiting and resuming the ride results in the same situation. The problem remains if I try to resume the ride days later.

These are the affected rides I’ve found and the point at which I cannot continue to the next white dot:

⁃ surfous’s San Simeon ride: forward, 23%, 22.7 miles (suggested)
⁃ surfous’s Truckee ride: forward, 66%, 6.7 miles (shared)
⁃ Old military road: reverse, 18%, 17.4 miles (suggested)

I don’t know what the root cause might be, but I’m hoping that there’s an overall fix that can marker these rides work again and prevent this problem in future rides.

  Apps not available in Quest
Posted by: Nxtdoor11 - 10-15-2019, 12:10 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

I have entered the key for both apps on the Oculus web site, gone to the Not installed place within the VR headset and can't find the VZ apps. I can't see them anywhere.

I have sent an email two days ago to support and not got a response as yet.

Explorer Feature Request : "Avoid Highways"
Posted by: apLundell - 10-11-2019, 09:19 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

In a normal google maps search, there's a toggle switch that plots a route without using highways.

It'd be great if we could use that switch when building Explorer routes.

Lightbulb Need clarification on how to install VZfit on Oculus Quest
Posted by: DukeRec1 - 09-30-2019, 01:42 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

I'm interested in buying a VZfit for my Oculus Quest and decided to do some reading to get everything ready. I could not find a clear place in your website that has the instructions for installations on Oculus Quest. Based on your video at https://vimeo.com/344907260 I figured that the app still in Beta, thus users must install them by invite only.

Please correct/add any information in the instructions that I gathered below.

Setup and Install VZfit Thumb and Pedal Controllers

  1. Open Oculus App
  2. Press GEAR icon and connect App to Quest
  3. Select CONTROLLERS
  4. Select PAIR NEW CONTROLLER
  5. Select PAIR GAMEPAD
  6. Press and hold for 5 seconds the PAIR BUTTON on back of thumb controller
    * Place the controller close to the Quest* You will need a paper clip or tiny screwdriver* When blue light flashes, pairing has started
  7. On the Oculus App, select SETACHI MEDIA BUTTON
  8. Attach Thumb Controller to bike's handle bar
  9. Install battery on Pedal Controlle
  10. Attach Pedal Controller to bike's pedal
Register your Controllers to your VZfit account
  1. Create VZfit Account at www.vzfit.com/signup
  2. In your confirmed account, click REGISTER SENSOR KIT and add your "Sensor Kit ID" (included in with the Controllers)
  3. Enter payment information for monthly or yearly charges.
Install VZfit Apps to Oculus Quest (as stated on the top-right of your VZfit Account www.vzfit.com/account)
  1. Email support@virzoom.com with your Oculus Account email.
  2. Wait for response.

My questions...
  1. After I send the initial email, would Support add the VZfit apps to my Oculus accounts for me to download to my Quest?
  2. Any plans to have the Apps in the Oculus Store so the user can add them once they have a VZfit Sensor Kit?
  3. Is there anywhere where this instructions are posted/written?
Thanks!
