  Control use
Posted by: junger - 05-14-2020, 05:19 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

I own an original virZoom bike. Each handlebar has an array of 4 buttons plus a trigger. The only control I’ve ever used is the right trigger. Are there plans to introduce a game that will actually utilize the controls?

It would be wonderful if the bike could act as a Quest controller to start the games. I need my touch controller to launch the game then it just hangs from my wrist for the rest of the workout. I tried leaving the controllers hanging from the handlebars but this doesn’t work as my knees bang in to them.

  Riding with Friends
Posted by: Jonomon - 05-12-2020, 10:14 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Hello -

I'm hating this app.  I found the set-up to be very difficult and time consuming.  I bought it to ride with my girlfriend but cannot find any real information on how to accomplish this.  We've tried VZExplore and VZPlay.  Can someone explain if and how this can be accomplished?  For $99 I'm very disappointed at the support here.  Do you need to continue paying $9.99 a month to ride with people?  I'd appreciate any help people could provide.  In addition, is it just me or are everyone's VZExplore rides extremely glitchy (cars flattening, buildings jumping, etc.).  It's been making me very motion sick and I don't have this problem with any other VR apps.  Sorry to vent but when you pay $100+ to ride a bike you kind of just want to ride a bike and not become a VR programmer.

Thank you!

  New Explorer opening screen

For those of us with Acrophobia, the new opening screen for Explorer is more than a little unsettling. I get the point of the global map, but! Dodgy

Are there any plans for integration with Yur.fit (specifically the Yur.watch)? Thanks!

  Moved "Read Me First"
Posted by: emalafeew - 05-08-2020, 02:17 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

We've moved basic orientation instructions from the old "Read Me First" forum post to vzfit.com/help.

You'll see it as "Help" on the vzfit.com menu.  The plan is to evolve into a complete support and self-help portal.

VZFit Play on the Quest is a whole different animal vs. the GO!
Posted by: Loyalty - 05-07-2020, 07:49 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Holy Amazeballs, now this game is near perfect for me. I already loved the addiction...battling it out for 1st and 2nd place in the weekly events on my GO (though have been down waiting for my Quest download as I gave my bro my GO last week) but it was quite annoying to me that all the cockpits were monoscopic. I can understand now if it makes the GO overheat though...truth be told, had I known, I would not have purchased it but I'm so glad I did anyway. I'm a huge 3D nerd...while portions of VZFit Play were in stereo...the cockpits were lacking any sense of depth...the maps did though...so everything was always just meh...paddling in a flat kayak in what looks like a semi-3d world was the worst one..I still played daily...

Then I decided to grab a Quest since you can now stream so many games wirelessly from Steam. I have a Rift, but now that's pretty useless to me so selling it. Anyhow, after getting the download, loading it up...I was crossing my fingers for stereo...and was blown away by just how different the game looks on the Quest. Even the menu GUI is actually in stereo. I never really noticed on the GO that it wasn't until seeing on the Quest. Now not only is the Kayak in perfect 3d, but the water is also, with a complete sense of depth. It was shocking when I 1st opened that one in the best of ways.

This does not have anything to do with 6dof either though that's an awesome addition of course. I love leaning vs tilting my head....so does my neck!

I just noticed 15 mins ago in the experimental features you can control some VR games with just your hands. Do those titles need to use a certain sdk, or does that work right now with VZFit?

Either way, I'm about to find out!

If you are pretty dedicated to this exercise system (VZFit Play especially) and have the means to do so...it's an absolute no brainer....UPGRADE! You will absolutely not regret it.
You'll have some amazing VR games to play too, not to mention virtually the entire Rift/Vive library at your disposal using ALVR

Oculus really knocked it out of the park with the Quest...I'm late to that party. One of the 1st with DK1, DK2, CV1....then VR kinda went by the wayside...was at Ross shopping for clothes and they had a very nice looking Fila exercise bike on clearance for $49.00...I remember VirZoom changed their business model and went to the sensor, bought the bike, went home and immediately ordered this. Thankfully on a 50% of sale!!! It's brought my love of VR back front and center so thankful for that as well.

Stay Healthy, Have Fun!

If anyone ever wants to meet up for a ride, PM me and let's schedule something!

  Explorer Won't Load

I have it downloaded, even used it before, but today when I hit the centering button using the A button, nothing happens. Games work fine, explorer won't load. What's happening?

  New Game: Paperboy
Posted by: weightmanw - 05-05-2020, 10:58 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Remember the old arcade or console Paperboy? VZFit should make their own game based on the concept:

- Time your throws to land in mailbox, misthrow breaks windows etc
- Avoid potholes, other kids running in front of you, bad car drivers
- Bike faster to get away from the dog chasing you
Etc

Scoring Points in Car Racing is a bit wonky...I get it but....
Posted by: Loyalty - 05-05-2020, 07:26 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

The first time I played this game was for the weekly event. I jumped in for half an hour, was 1st the entire time but scored so low. I was really confused.

Turns out, I was going so fast the whole time, I was losing out on 100+ points each lap because I blew my load and could no longer beat my previous time. Apparently I also went so fast, I only got one extra opponent in the race? (possible bug)

So in order to get the most points possible I do the following: (I don't race)

Step 1. Purposely go as slow as possible to just barely beat the bot cars, get another opponent in the race
Step 2. Do this again, but only a little faster so you beat your previous lap time.
Step 3. Begin to introduce using boost to beat your previous time but as little as possible
Step 4. Speed of bots increases so you have to start using more boost.
Step 5. You've maxed out your highest speed 15min into the 45 min workout.
Step 6. Be sad that for 30 mins you're only going to get 100 points tops, or simply keep doing 15 min challenges to accrue points faster
