sharing my latest game prototype...
Score chasing doesn't tend to do it for me personally. On it's face you would think that it would, but score for me tends to almost always be something that annoys me in games. I would prefer my progress and growth allow me to accomplish a goal or progress further. An example may be, playing through a tank level to get through till a boss. Say you lose to the boss, you get some points for your run that you can allocate to better shields, damage, speed etc. Something to make that boss fight easier.

I realize in the end.. it's really just a score disguised as level progress, but the combination of improving my character, and moving further forward really makes me get into something.
