Pressing A not recognized to start Explorer, Play
#11
Ok, here are the results of this morning's test; confirmation, and more refinement...

1) Brought Left Controller and Headset to bike, about 20 feet away from where I store them. Never touched the Right controller.
2) Launch VZ Explorer
3) Respond to prompt to Connect by pressing A button on gamepad controller. It works on the first press.
4) Pedal to connect sensor
5) Try to respond to prompt to Recenter with A button gamepad. No response after 10 tries.
6) Went over to Right hand controller, didn't touch it, noticed it was awake (white light showing). Left it there, 20 feet away, returned to bike
7) Tried again with A button to Recenter, again nothing after 6 presses
8) Went back and picked up Right controller by ring; careful not to press any buttons. Brought it over and set it down next to bike
9) Press A button on gamepad to Recenter - works on first try

It occurs to me that since I use the bike in the morning, it's always the first use of the Headset for the day. But I think I reproduced the issue later in the day a few days ago, so it seems more likely to be related to the headset and controllers having been asleep when I started the steps above.

Hope this helps...
