Guardian making explorer impossible to use with quest 2
#1
However I set up the guardian on quest 2 I see some breakthrough of my surroundings in VZ explorer. Then every few minutes, and increasingly persistently, it stops the app and tells me I have left the play area. Is there any way to fix this or turn off the guardian?

I don’t have much space around my bike but this is crazy. It think s the handlebars are obstacles

Are you using stationary or normal guardian? I usually just draw a space way larger than my bike, even if I can't actually use that space.

Ive tried both. It still says I have left the play area as soon as I redraw one. Once that happens it gets stuck in a loop

I have had this happen with my Quest 2, but not in relation to our game. The advice Oculus gave me was to make sure the lighting was good in the area.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have tried that and it’s no better. I think it may be to do with the height. I’m 6’5 so my saddle is at max height. If I stand on the floor or look down I can see some of the game but sitting on the saddle I just see the room. I am still getting constantly told I have left the play area

that should be pretty easy to test, if you set the ground to be .. 5-6 inches above the actual ground it should give you plenty of leeway. My understanding is that there is no ceiling on the guardian though. Are you not having this issue with any other games?

I've taken to setting stationary guardian is to set it while standing over the bike, so that the saddle is towards the back of the area. Otherwise, I found that it was too easy to lean forwards and break the boundary.

Hi,
it would be great, if user have option to mute guardian warning sound. I use freestyle mode for rowing machine and every stronger move to back results in annoying warning sound. It is crazy. Thank you very much.

Best Wishes

This actually seems to work! I set the floor level and made a guardian bigger than the actual safe area and I was able to use it with no interference for my whole workout. Thanks!

The following explains how to disable the Guardian: https://uploadvr.com/how-to-disable-ques...20tracking.

I would only do this if you're having issues though, as you don't want to forget about turning it back on and then punch through your TV/wall/significant other.

As for the ceiling issue, you may want to check out https://oculus.uservoice.com/forums/9219...-and-quest and post there.
