One Caveat: I was originally trying to create a route 8500 miles long. It wouldn't work. I think what I determined (with help from Snowpelt) is that the route was attempting to go through an area not covered by Google Street View. The AI does not automatically route around areas that lack Google Street View. I just got an error saying "oops...this route is not available."
Rather than drawing and importing my own maps...I will liking continue creating smaller point to point routes within the headset, that I know will go through Google street view areas. If I have to, I can import routes as a last resort.
Hi Shon,
Explorer will jump you over areas not covered by Street View. But the very beginning at least must be covered, which is why you see the "route is not available" when trying to start somewhere that doesn't. Once you are in a ride Explorer should take you through all the areas covered by Street View. Note your end point must also be covered by Street View if you want to be able to finish it!
