Test that the volume works with +/- before you even launch into a VZfit game. That'll tell you if the Thumb Controller is paired properly, which is the first thing to check.
Note we made the Thumb Controller because it's not comfortable to hold the Go hand controller while working out on a bike. Though it would be easy for our games to allow either the hand controller or Thumb Controller, so far we've felt that would be more confusing than it's worth!
