Kiosk mode test
#1
In addition to homes we want VZfit to be used in gyms, hotels, offices, arcades, and basically anywhere you can find people on bikes.

The main difference with commercial locations is you need a setup that automatically runs VZfit and can't be exited with the home button.  Also the games have to assume a random person is playing every session, to reset settings, reshow basic instructions, and hide personalization features until the player logs in.

We've made those games changes already, enabled with a special "Guest Mode" flag we can set on commercial VZfit accounts.  The auto-start and home-button lockout are what's called a "kiosk mode", and aren't supported by Oculus yet.  But Oculus for Business will have a kiosk mode this fall, and https://oculusgokioskmode.tweaklab.org/ is available now to test with the Go.

Our initial test is on a spin bike in the Wellbridge Athletic Club near our office in Harvard Square.  If anyone's a member or guest of the Charles Hotel you can try it out, and if anyone wants to try this setup with their Go at home let us know!

Good to hear this news, it will be clearly cheaper for commercial installations to use Oculus go equipment. I’m sure though that Oculus will charge hefty monthly fee to use commercially their equipment.
