Stuttering of Avatar in Explorer. - jrstorey - 08-27-2020

For the past three weeks or so I've observed a noticeable stuttering of my avatar during transitions in Explorer.  It's not present during every transition but enough to be annoying.  Could it be associated with one of the recent builds?  I checked on fast.com and my internet speed is 110Mbps on my Oculus Go.

Would it be possible for you to record and share video of that effect? Need to see if it's a "frame glitch" when loading or something else. We'll also double check performance on the Go to see if anything's changed.

Hi, I'm a member of the VirZoom testing team, it appears you made the video private, would you mind either changing the video to public or setting it as unlisted and direct messaging me the link?

Good news, we were able to reproduce the issues you described, it appears to only happen on go but we are now working on a fix

I've made the video public if you need it.

Thanks will let you know when the fix is out, still working on it

Hi, it appears your stuttering is caused by your Go's memory dipping below the threshold for smooth animation.  If possible, would you mind installing a memory monitoring software onto your headset and then reporting the numbers you get while stuttering?  To do so you will need to enable developer mode on your headset.  If you haven't already, this is a good guide for getting it set up: https://sidequestvr.com/setup-howto .  I would recommend Oculus' own monitoring software, which you can download here: https://developer.oculus.com/documentation/tools/tools-ovrmetricstool/?device=GO

The avatar stuttering stopped and it doesn't seen to be repeating itself.  I just assumed it was something done on your end.  I only use my Oculus Go for VZfit so I didn't change (add or remove) anything to cause or alleviate this.  The only thing I can think of is that I unknowingly had something running in the background eating up my RAM and powering off my Go cleared it.  If it happens again I'll download the diagnostics.  It may be moot however since I pre-ordered a Quest 2.

Great, thanks for the update!
