Are you talking about Country, City, or Comfort mode, or all three? Or are you talking about the monoscopic view option, which is true by default on Go? Explorer's worlds are not full 3D models, they are ways to represent 360 images from Streetview that you can ride through. Country and City modes create models that you can continuously ride through, based on image and map data respectively. In contrast, Comfort mode is an 360 slideshow which has no distortion but by that token isn't continuous. Monoscopic viewing means that both of your eyes get the same image, whereas in stereoscopic viewing they are offset based on the distance to things. Monoscopic therefore can reduce the sensation of depth artifacts, and also consumes a bit less battery which is helpful on the Go. One thing I do to "book mark" interesting points of interest: I go to the pause menu and note the GPS Coordinates. I then plug those coordinates into google maps on my phone and save with a "Star" or other flag. Later I can go back and explore the area further. I use the same process for mapping my route as I am riding. RE: vz explorer - emalafeew - 05-09-2020 (05-05-2020, 12:52 AM)emalafeew Wrote:(05-04-2020, 02:41 PM)RonBird Wrote: One other comment. Would it be possibe at some point to be able adjust the position of the handlebar in the VR? it is about 150mm too far forward and possibily the same too high for my machine. I have adjusted in my head for it, and most of the time I ride not holding on, but the are times when I need to lean forward and to know the bars will be close to where I see them would be helpful.Customizing your virtual bike handlebars to match position and shape of your real handlebars is on the backlog. There are higher priority items but we'll be psyched to get to that. Ron there's a trick you can play even now to adjust the virtual bike handlebars, which is to change where your head is at when you look down and hit the RECENTER button. If you move it backward and then recenter, the handlebars will appear closer to your head when you move it forward to your normal starting position. Keep recentering in this way until the virtual handlebars match your bike. RE: vz explorer - RonBird - 05-11-2020 Only just read the item about adjusting the handlebars. I'll try it next time. Thanks. I have a ride, I think its called 'Ron Bird's Albox Ride' it is from Albox in Spain to Luca in Italy. I have got about 35% of the ride done and it just stops. The dots stop, my trainer stops and I stop, though I am still pedaling and the program registers my cycles ;-) . I have found the position on Gogogle Maps and it definately has Street View. Is my ride too long? Do I have to restart it from my new position? Thanks guys RE: vz explorer - emalafeew - 05-11-2020 (05-11-2020, 01:39 PM)RonBird Wrote: Only just read the item about adjusting the handlebars. I'll try it next time. Thanks. Thanks for the details, will have a look after new builds go out today. RE: vz explorer - Jonomon - 05-12-2020 (05-05-2020, 10:59 AM)CB66 Wrote: I find the flat images very distracting in explorer. Thanks. FYI re Ron Bird's Albox Ride. Can you see my Strava file? Are you able to see any of my rides or do I have to share them with you? (do tell me how). 1st ride today, your time 12:56 am. According to the Strava log I'm riding along a main road. Actually I am in a parking lot for a swimming pool - Pisine comunali, Sestri Levante. map ref: 44.27268 - 9.40553. and not able to get any further. I paused the ride to write down the map ref. Pausing the ride saved that little bit of the 1st ride to Strava, I was not expecting that. I got back on re-started the ride and back peddled. Some how I went through a blue screen and ended back on the main road. RE: vz explorer - emalafeew - 05-19-2020 (05-19-2020, 03:06 PM)RonBird Wrote: FYI re Ron Bird's Albox Ride. I'd need your Strava username to see your rides, in general I can see the last place you were. But I went to maps.google.com and looked at that lat/lon, and if you follow the X's it seems that the Google car offramped into that activity center, and then seems to jump discontinuously back onto the main road. I would have thought our game would jump ahead correctly, will add this to my potential bug list. Are you able to proceed correctly since backing up? Note taking off your headset puts it into standby after a while, and our games save progress (including updating Strava) because we can't know if it might be shutdown or rebooted from there. RE: vz explorer - RonBird - 05-30-2020 Hi Guys, still having a great time with VzFit, just peddled over the Alps from Italy to France, beautiful views! Just a few observations. When negotiating roundabouts, quite often there will be a stray dot or two in another direction, I know you suggested I had a trainer to show the way, but they are not always in front, they seem to leave the roundabouts to me!! ;-) I do manage to get around after a little backing up or re-centring. One roundabout I took a coffee break from and managed on the next visit. Would it be possible to have an adjustable ‘lean’ for cornering. Hairpin bends up and over the alps and I can’t lean far enough, I have to use my hands to add extra ‘lean’ to the headset. Difficult when wearing spectacles. To be able to have a an adjustable lean might be helpful. The settings/preferences area, the only setting that is ‘sticky’ is the HUD, all the other reset after each ride, is this correct? It is usual for settings to be persistent. Again thanks everyone, this product makes my rehab a pleasure. |
